Serve
"Seeking
justice and doing acts of service help us show God's love in
the world. Caring for others in Jesus' name in tangible ways
makes visible Christ's presence, helps those we serve in places
where they have need, and is a witness to the integrity and heart
of Jesus' followers." (ELCA
2001)
Social
Ministries at All Saints speaks the voice of our church
for social issues. Often the call
of the sick, aged, orphaned, unemployed, underprivileged, the
imprisoned, and those in need of aid goes unheard when our focus
might be on
other more pressing issues. It is our responsibility to call
with a loud voice for the support of members and friends
of this congregation in their time of need. It is equally important
to call for responsible action for social justice and peace in
Prince George's & Anne Arundel counties, in this Nation and
in the world. We stand accountable to raise the awareness
of any injustice or need to which our Lord calls us (Matthew
25:31-46). All Saints seeks to "serve the world in the
name of Jesus" through various service projects we lead
throughout the year. Examples of previous service projects we have
lead or
participated in include Christmas in April, Gifts of Hope, Christmas
at Shepherd's
Cove, yard/house clean-ups,
Crop
Walk, the Bowie Food Pantry, and Biloxi Mission
Trips. Please e-mail serve@allsaintsbowie.org if
you have questions about All Saints Social Ministry or you want to
get involved
and
serve.
