Upcoming ELCA Youth Ministry Events

Chrysalis is the annual Metro DC Synod Senior High youth ministry event to be held November 30 - December 2, 2007, at the 4H Center in Front Royal, VA. The theme – Hear Me Now! – will encourage participants to hear! Whether it’s hearing themselves, hearing what others are saying, or hearing God, this weekend will push all of us to hear what we may normally miss. Registration is due Nov. 17!

Shekinah (7th-8th graders) for will be held March 7-9, 2008, also at the 4H Center in Front Royal.

Shema (4th-6th graders) will be held Sunday afternoon, April 29, from 3:00– 6:00 PM at Lutheran Church of the Abiding Presence, Burke, VA.

Chi Rho, Metro DC Synod’s annual servant event for senior high youth. will be July 20-26, 2008.

The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering will be in New Orleans, Louisiana: July 22-26, 2009. The theme is Jesus Justice Jazz and it draws from the rich faith history, diverse cultures, and arts of New Orleans. It will stretch our understandings of what it means to live in relationship and service with each other in the manner of Christ—for life! http://www.elca.org/gathering/
